Born in Miami, Florida, Mr. Zies moved to the Central Florida area in the late 1970\u2019s and eventually attended Rollins College. After graduating from Tulane Law School, Mr. Zies clerked with the civil firm of Troutman &amp; Williams in Winter Park, FL from 1987 to 1990. After his clerkship, Mr. Zies was hired as an Assistant State Attorney in Seminole County. Mr. Zies was eventually named head of DUI prosecutions in Seminole County. Mr. Zies eventually left the Office of the State Attorney and was a member of the firm of Padawer &amp; Zies from 1992 to 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Zies eventually formed his own law office known as Zies Brothers, PA where he practiced from 1996 until joining The Defense Group in 2008. Mr. Zies brings over 32 years of criminal law experience.<\/p>\n<p>At his prior firm, Mr. Zies focused his practice solely on criminal law. At The Defense Group Mr. Zies will continue to practice only criminal defense law. Mr. Zies will be assisting clients in Orange, Osceola, Semeinole, and Lake County courts. Mr. Zies is also fluent in Spanish and will be assisting clients in any county in our service area who are more confortable speaking the spanish language.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Zies is active in community affairs including Scouting and working with organizations that protect the environment. He has provided pro bono legal assistance in cases involving environmental issues.
